TECHNOLOGY BRIEF
Well known fact that farmers do not realise returns on investment to grow the crop. Issue is blindness to demand of a certain commodity. As farmer is blind to demand in a market, every farmer cultivates and bring crop to market at the same time because of obvious situations ends up in getting low market prices which are not in tune with the cost of cultivation, rent of the land and effort his/her family has put through. Price Predictor Tool for Farmers enables farmers in a region to assess the demand, and indicates what to grow and how much to grow to and what time to grow to maximize the returns. The tool is based on big data collection and needs AI & Machine learning to implement.
BENEFITS
• Farmers should be able to understand the financial feasibility of a crop before he/she places seeds in the farm. • In case farmers have planted crop already, they should be able to maximize the returns on the crop planted when market prices are down. • Understand the sporadic surges and lows in farm commodities prices which hurts farmers and consumers and how it can be controlled
